itunes is well known for music. but not necessarily for movies and tv shows. now that they're putting a more equal push towards all if those products, maybe it is time to change the name. through apples software update on both mac and on windows systems with iTunes currently installed, all current users will update whether or not the name is new. and a new name will make customers consider what is different about the software previously known as iTunes. with a properly timed name change and a name that more appropriately refers to all the media it holds/sells, a lot of people will stop thinking of iTunes just for music.
I also believe the new iTunes will add the ability to rip your DVDs, kind of like a Handbrake/Telestream's Drive-In. the new iTunes should be a place to store all of your media, including your physical DVDs just like how iTunes was originally meant to store your music, including your physical CDs. of course DRM would be added to all of your ripped movies, but to be able to view them on your computer, appletv, and iPod/iPhone, it would be worth the DRM.
i would just suggest that the new iTunes I'm hoping for would need a new name. the time is right.

I sent you a PM a few days ago about this, wondering why you'd want a song completely removed.

It's kinda brilliant from a dev stand point.
Your app costs $0.99
You give away $1000 a month to one user who is pushing a button.
If Your app causes a million people to download this and give it a try, you make $700,000 from app sales, and only have to give away $1000 a month.
Heck, they could give away $20,000 a month and would still make a killing, and would make the app that much more popular.
I don't see much wrong with that.
Don't forget about all the cash for Apple Inc.
Yet again the dollar rules over all at 1 Infinite Loop.

I think both ways seem to have too many flaws, and like i said earlier many people will not use their alternative votes wisely and I am sure that most people are unaware that they do NOT need to give an alternative.
Well, i guess we will see how it all goes.... I am working the election tonight so i wont hear the end of it til about 7/8am tomorrow!!!

Earlier today there were reports of the iTunes and App Store servers having problems. That was about 7 hours ago though. I don't think that is your problem but just to let you know.

From his posting history, I get the impression that the OP will respond with some degree of restrained celebration when Steve Jobs buys the farm.

the LEDs used most often are white ones. nice, provide brighter pics. but a really good combo is ips and rgb LED. i don't think something like that exists. and any ips screen will do for what you are looking for. doesn't have to be apple. dells are good. i believe asus has put out a 500 led IPS if LED is a completely necessity for you.
I dont really know much about monitors so Im not sure if its completely neccessary, just would like to have amazing colours and blacks like the ACD.

Meh...so what?
You try working there, at their "competitive wages", and see what happens. It won't be pretty, but since "regulations are bad", that's why jobs were being offshored. :( With Apple's clout and prices, surely they could find a more reputable factory to contract with and not pass the added cost onto its customers?
Reading that article made me sick. I feel bad for the workers of China, and why their management and government freely tolerates pollution, such mistreatment of its workers, et cetera... (Granted, China's ability to execute deliberately fraudulent bankers makes an interesting tangent, but that's still a tangent...)

I'll be at the Rogers store on Thorold Stone and Dorchester at 12 midnight on Thursday to see if there's a line. If there is, I'll wait till the morning. If not, I'll be there at 6am. I'll be the pissed off lookin guy with the sideburns. I'll likely have a cute Filipino chick with me, so say hi if you're at that location!

I'll go against the grain and say keep what you have.
You stated you want to cut down on costs, so unless you are a business doing some funky accounting tricks, your equipment is already paid for. And it sounds like since you do Apple dev as a profession, you may kick yourself in the future for having sold the Mac Pro for a ****** Windows box when you pick up another contract.
I also do contract work, and wouldn't dream of selling my personal equipment I use for business unless it was literally a "sell the Mac Pro or lose my apartment" kind of deal.
It's not sell apartment, but I do need the cash. Plus I simply cannot justify a high-end mac pro and a high-end macbook pro. I'll do work on one or the other but not both (impossible to sync 200gb of virtual machines). I kind of temporarily bought both because I couldn't make up my mind, knowing that if I try both eventually I'll sell the one I don't use later on. The problem is, I'll use the macbook pro for a few days hear the fans go on 100% for an hour or want to play a game and copy everything and switch to the mac pro. Then I have to be on-site at a client or just get tired of the home office and copy everything back to laptop and the cycle repeats itself.
But the reason why I keep leaning on macbook pro 15 + gaming rig, is because I like the idea of the primary computer being the portable macbook pro 15. So I have all my work always and it's fast enough for work. And have a gaming pc so I'm not overheating / abusing the laptop for games (unless I'm traveling :)

In a manner of speaking.

Syracuse.net is offering an internet service bundle with a refurbished Mac. Very interesting idea. And at $200 it is in the right price range to appeal to a lot of PC users. They'll get a taste of Mac and decide if they want to buy a newer one.
Visibility is one of the key issues regarding Macs. This helps a lot.

SSD is short for "Solid State Disk", HDD (or often only abbreviated "HD") is short for "Hard Disk Drive" ("Hard Disk"), thus "SSD HD" is kinda redundant.
Btw, all 2010 MBAs have SSDs, no HDDs and no option for buying it with an HDD. Or are you talking about an older MBA?
I have an SSD and always leave 10 to 20 % of its capacity free, for the OS to swap and have enough space for other temporary data.

See you say that, but your actions speak louder then words. Do you have an iPhone or phone made in a similar fashion?
Yes, but would I get another one if I knew people were getting sick from making it? No. I found out about it yesterday, so.....yes... I have avoided buying iPhones, Nokia mobiles, and Garmin products over the last 2 days.
Did this new information affect my mobile phone choice from 18 months ago? Uh....no. Use your head.

Just a shout out to all the Apple fans who enthuse about Apple's great customer service ethic. I bought Aperture 2 to go with my new iMac just before Xmas - I'm impressed how obsolete and totally unsupported it is only a couple of months later.
I don't feel like rewarding Apple with another Aperture sale, so its off to Lightroom I go. ;)

BBNo, you are not looking for a computer's IP address, you are looking for the printer's IP address. Now, if you have a shared printer that is connected to another computer, then you need the IP address of the computer that the printer is connected to.
If you ask additional questions, then please state how you have your printer setup.

There's this awesome show called "MythBusters" and they tested this theory out-- it is true, using the AC kills fuel economy when compared to just having the windows down.
Two SUVs were used; exact same specs, model, everything... Same exact amount of fuel put in and one driver blasted the AC the whole time while the other drove w/ the windows down. They drove around and around an open race track. Although the data was screwy nobody could deny the truth because the AC using SUV rolled to a standstill over a half an hour before the windows-down SUV did.
Weird. Theory is that the opposite is true. Even tests I've read about have claimed that turning on the A/C and keeping your windows shut is the best way to save fuel at mid to high speeds, while at lower speeds it matters very little.
